Baku Tour with Lunch 2024

This tour lets you discover the city in one day while sampling the excellent traditional local cuisine.

Prepare for an exhilarating full-day Baku city trip that includes lunch at a fantastic restaurant. Your guide and vehicle will take you from your accommodation and drive you to the Ateshgah Temple of Fire Worshippers. The complex is located on the Absheron peninsula, on the fringes of Surakhani hamlet, 18 miles (30 kilometres) from Baku's centre. It has been honoured at various times by Zoroastrians, Hindus, and Sikhs.

This region is famed for its remarkable natural phenomena, such as burning natural gas outlets (underground gas coming to the surface touches oxygen and lights up), which you will visit immediately after the tour concludes at Ateshgah. You will see Yanardag, which translates to "burning mountain", and is a natural gas fire that burns continually on a slope on the Absheron Peninsula. Only a few fire mountains are left in the world, and most of them are in Azerbaijan.

After that, you will drive to an actual Azerbaijani kebab house for lunch, where you will taste delicious Azeri Kebabs with salads and soft beverages. Following lunch, you will walk through Yashil Bazar (Green Market). This is a traditional bazaar with fresh vegetables, fruits, and greens from the surrounding areas. All of these items are reasonably priced. That is why residents like to shop at this market.

Finally, you will resume your tour of the Old City. Baku's mediaeval period saw the construction of landmarks such as the Synyg Gala Minaret, the castle walls, the Maiden Tower, the Multani Caravanserai, and the Palace of the Shirvanshahs. In 2001, these historic monuments were included as cultural property on the UNESCO World Heritage List of Historical Monuments.
